According to many historical sources, the name "Dalmatian" comes from the Adriatic coast region in Dalmatia, Croatia, which is considered the first true home of this wonderful breed. These dogs were originally used as hounds, and later as guard dogs. Later on, due to their trainability and attractive appearance, they were used as circus dogs, among other roles. They reached their peak popularity in Great Britain as firehouse dogs, barking to clear the path and guarding the fire engines during rescue operations.
They have a muscular build with defined withers and a strong back. A typical representative of the breed has a distinct cone-shaped head with a subtle stop. The distinguishing feature of Dalmatians is their characteristic black or liver spotting. In our breeding program, you will mainly find dogs with black spots.
A Dalmatian's nose color should match the color of its spots. Their eyes are oval with an expressive and bright look. The neck should be long and well-muscled without a visible dewlap. The tail should be saber-curved and set level with the topline.
